EXPERIENCE
Journeaux, Bédard & Assoc. Inc. presently consists of ten (10) geotechnical engineers, mostly with Masters Degrees, having extensive experience in engineering.
In 1987, Mr. Noel Journeaux, Eng., M.S.C.E., and Mr. Claude Bédard, Eng., M.Sc.A. formed a company under the name of Journeaux, Bédard & Assoc. Inc. to provide consulting services in the geotechnical, mining and environmental fields.
In 2006, Mr. Claude Bédard became president of the company Journeaux, Bédard & Assoc.
Mr. Claude Bédard, P. Eng., has been working in the geotechnical field since 1976. After completing a Masters degree in geotechnical engineering on the stability of clay slopes, he worked jointly with Mr. Journeaux as a project engineer. He has experience equally in design, supervision of construction and project management for earth constructions, roads, dams and underpinning. He has acquired solid experience in design on permafrost, slope stability, hydrogeological and environmental studies and design and construction of massive tailing dams.
Since 1982, Mr. Bédard has been implicated in the design, construction and management of mine tailings impoundment areas. He was an active participant in the Canadian Mining Association's (CMA) work group that produced the guidelines for mine tailings impoundment area management and has given training courses on mine tailings impoundment area management for the Canadian Mining Association (CMA). Mr. Bédard is also the main inventor of a new tailings beach deposition system for which JBA retains the patent.
